nothing like a giant bottle of incredible sake in tiny bowls to really get you ready for court — 5 years ago
Tasting amazing! Still needed an hour or so of air. Great fruit and structure. From magnum. Went amazing with food. — 4 months ago
Drinks more like old BDX than aged Napa. Soft as silk with an ample but not unpleasant helping of bret.
Pair with getting into a heated discussion with your right wing nut of a father who, when asked him to back up his assertion about “absurdly high public sector salaries” 🙄 with facts, responds with a personal attack. — 4 years ago

Picnic with soraya and Danny and kalen and Hugo, kalen told the birth story and we had lots of conservas and some very nice cheese and Clark street bread. Very nice, went great with conserva. Need more! This was a wing hop fung bargain table score. — 3 years ago
Second time around may be the occasion/company/menu but it was delicious ($55) — 5 years ago
Loved! Pale-pink, red-fruited, young and fruity rosé with big notes of strawberry. Loved that it’s an Oregon producer. — 6 years ago

These were still the early years for Joe Swan. Andre Tchelistcheff was consulting and a young Joel Peterson was under Swan’s proverbial wing before he launched Ravenswood. It’s getting harder and harder find these gems so this was a real treat.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 1975 pours, a dull ruby color with a translucent core and rust colored rim; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of bruised and desiccated strawberry, smoked meat, mushrooms, forest floor, and an intriguing mix of spices. On the palate the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. At 55+, this is stunning and proof that California Pinot Noir does have the capacity to age gracefully when in the hands of a master. Drink now. — 2 months ago
