Always loved Kunde wines from Sonoma so was excited to find this Kunde offshoot that’s highly refreshing Sauv Blanc. Heading back for more of this great buy at TJs that costs 3-4x elsewhere. — 4 years ago
Nice and funky up front with a honey finish. — 2 years ago
Meant to appeal to the cool kids, this scribbly offshoot is biodynamic but pretty clean overall. Pinot Gris in baby rose' form. Visually appealing - a glint of elegant rose gold. Delicate pear, yellow apple, jasmine flower. Nice round weight and overall pretty pleasant. — 3 years ago
Pet Nat from Sb !!! One of the best Per Nats I have tasted . Just pure juice , grapefruit , citrus . So long and so fresh . Love it — 4 years ago
“Good shit, here.”
I’m not normally a California Pinot fan but Anderson Valley is an AVA I can make an exception for. This Navarro offshoot is a prime example of what Cali pinots can do when done well: low funk and high amounts of fruit. Baked blackberry pie and cloves/other baking spices. Medium weight but a long lingering finish. — 6 years ago
This is from Occidental, the offshoot of Kistler for solely Pinot Noir. Nose of red fruit & minerals, body of cherry, minerals and a hint of orange peel with deep long finish — 4 years ago
Wow. Totally surprised by this wine. As I understand it, La Voix is an offshoot from Steve’s flagship operation, Palmina (the best Italian varietal-based wines outside of the Old Country, IMHO). I was a bit skeptical at first - was concerned about it being over-oaked like the one vintage of John Alban’s Perra Docs North offerings that I’ve had - but this is terrific (and an amazing QPR). Definitely has an old-world flare to it in terms of acidity and minerality (more Chablis than Burgundy), but with CA fruit through and through. Do yourself a favor and try one of these! — 4 years ago
