This is just insane!! Medium gold color. Nose of lemongrass, butter, and subtle metallic tones. Super complex and more White Burg than Napa Chard. Medium plus depth and finish. Good luck finding it, if you do let me know, but I have my ways ;) — 4 days ago

Wow. Totally surprised by this wine. As I understand it, La Voix is an offshoot from Steve’s flagship operation, Palmina (the best Italian varietal-based wines outside of the Old Country, IMHO). I was a bit skeptical at first - was concerned about it being over-oaked like the one vintage of John Alban’s Perra Docs North offerings that I’ve had - but this is terrific (and an amazing QPR). Definitely has an old-world flare to it in terms of acidity and minerality (more Chablis than Burgundy), but with CA fruit through and through. Do yourself a favor and try one of these! — 4 years ago

Meant to appeal to the cool kids, this scribbly offshoot is biodynamic but pretty clean overall. Pinot Gris in baby rose' form. Visually appealing - a glint of elegant rose gold. Delicate pear, yellow apple, jasmine flower. Nice round weight and overall pretty pleasant. — 2 years ago

I’m not normally a California Pinot fan but Anderson Valley is an AVA I can make an exception for. This Navarro offshoot is a prime example of what Cali pinots can do when done well: low funk and high amounts of fruit. Baked blackberry pie and cloves/other baking spices. Absolutely insane! One of the best white I’ve ever had. White burg in style but has the minerality and subtle sweetness you get from Aussie Chards. Hoping to acquire more. Reminded me of the Hunter’s Offshoot I loved in London. — 2 years ago

2016. A simply excellent GSM but mouvedre dominant. I originally thought cab but noticed the bottle shape and guessed a GSM, southern rhône. Turns out it’s Santa Barbara and an SQN offshoot. Perhaps my favorite of the Big Island trip. — 3 years ago
