Wine of the night? Think YES! Steven Kistler does it Right. Bright fruit, gorgeous flavor profile. This is a first but not the last of this Pinot Noir with friends at Il Villagio in Cherry Hill with friends Ray , Rose, Ralph, Charlene, Ken, Sue , Karen and I. If you have the Dough$$ I would seek out this unbelievable Pinot! CB 99!!

1 person found it helpfulMay 9th, 2015This is from Occidental, the offshoot of Kistler for solely Pinot Noir. Nose of red fruit & minerals, body of cherry, minerals and a hint of orange peel with deep long finish

Feb 2nd, 2021Other than Wayfarer Pinot noir, Occidental is hands down the Rolls Royce of Pinots. Full flavor, robust, and very exotic. It’s a perfect gift to give for someone who loves their Pinot noirs. Get them while you can because wine shops do not sell these by the case. At an average of $65-$70 per bottle, it’s a premium but their quality is unique and hard to find. You won’t be disappointed.

Dec 5th, 2018Not a fancy label, but a fancy Pinot indeed. Delicious, bright acid, ripe cherry, rhubarb, cola. The 2012 is ready to drink now... Cooler cellars might can handle another 3-4 years, but why wait?

Aug 18th, 2017Cola, mineral, light cherry overtones. Delicious. Ready to go after 5 years, could go a little longer. Label: Occidental SWK Vineyard 2012 14.1% ABV. # S01079

Apr 24th, 2017Wow. By far the best California Pinot Noir I have tested. It's got a lot more boldness up front than French pinots, but then it hits you with all the french pinot characteristic.
