Another excellent vintage of “Second Label Sassacaia.” Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). Aromas of black fruit, baking spices and cedar wood. Flavors of black cherries and currants, woody herbs, black licorice and those sweet baking spices. Long finish highlighted by beautiful freshness. Well softened tannins, bright acidity and a silky texture. Simply elegant and at its peak. Part of a June 2026 KZ Tasting. — 2 months ago
Probably my favorite Sangiovese so far.
Nose is expressive - cherry, plum, graphite, spice, lavender.
Tastes like cherry and dark fruit, minerals, tobacco.
Full bodied, rich and intense.
With age it probably will live up to the multiple 96+ professional reviews. — 2 months ago

Terroir driven sangiovese. Very similar to brunellos and chianti classicos yet different. — 4 months ago
This wine is dark ruby in the glass. The nose shows black cherry, plum, and some spice. On the palate, fruit is forward with an earthy minerality following. The tannins are smooth, and the finish is long, with dark berries being the predominant flavor. I used this one for a pasta sauce, but it would pair quite well with any beef or pork dish. — 7 days ago

A beautifully balanced wine with black currant, black cherry, with hints of violet, vanilla and leather. There is a beautiful hint of fennel and eucalyptus on the long finish. Most impressive is the finesse of this wine - great flavor without being overly extracted. Lovely — a month ago
Tuscan Villa on the label. Looks opulent. Wine is a pretty color. Garnet. Aroma is rose hip tea, hibiscus drinks and damask rose. Flavors are nice. Floral and sensuous. Maybe a bit flinty. Fruit driven, but not sweet. Cherry pits. Hint of Russian black currant and cherry flavored tea. Nice cedar streak. Hint of fresh ground pepper corns. This has character. It’s a great deal for such a defined Sangiovese. — 2 months ago
