Very muted in the nose… hardly anything at first, fresh saltiness, barely a hint of green apple & lemon peel. And yet, fresh & enticing.
And then, on the palate this sings! Simply beautiful! With a touch of roundness & creaminess on the palate but also vibrant acidity, salinity, stony minerality. Ripe yellow apple & lemon. Vibrant, juicy and quite complex. Great depth & length.

Love the chocolate/raspberry notes on the nose. Slight leather adds an earthy note. More body than I was expecting for a Rioja, but that might be the lush, balanced tannins whirling around. Surprisingly big, wild fruit and a soft, extended finish make this a real pleaser. I'd give it a few more point fractions if it had just a touch more complexity, but that is not to say this isn't a great one. — 9 months ago
