There are many tasting notes of mine on Delectable over several vintages as it has always been one of my favourite Australian reds. Dark Ruby with a lighter crimson edge. White ground pepper with fresh spices and black fruits (black cherry). Charcuterie. Ticks so many boxes. The only disappointing aspect has been the steady increase in price to now be sitting at around $200 reflecting its status in the Australian red wine hierarchy. — 3 months ago
See previous note from January 2023. Pepper Liquorice and Raspberry. Savoury and full bodied on the palate. Such density despite the drinking window describing this as “Old”. 2011 to 2028. I see this as having many years to go. Riper having blackberry and not as much pepper as you would expect because of this warmer vintage. The vineyards were originally planted in 1964, establishing this as one of Australia’s leaders in cool climate Shiraz. It has always been one of my favourite Australian Reds. Best Shiraz and Wine of the Year for 2011 as voted by the Good Wine Guide. 98 points from Nick Stock. — 10 months ago
Very smooth after aerated. Well balanced and easy to drink. Expensive @ $25+ — 4 years ago
So, who knew Mount Langi Ghiran had a small block in a north-facing vineyard of Sangiovese, lovely cherry and spice aromas and flavors, lovely, pure fruit, great acid and balance, medium-long finish, very nice Sangiovese, went great with our prosciutto-based pizza tonight — not exported, tiny production, I was told, but super pure Sangiovese, and a screaming bargain to boot (at Cellar Door pricing)!! — 5 months ago
Dense dark crimson in colour. Aromas of blackberry, pepper, and a whiff of charcuterie. On the palate much the same descriptors of blackberry and black pepper, medium plus bodied, finishing with persistent smooth tannins. Not as fruit driven as some top Australian Shiraz but then again should be compared with a top Shiraz from the Grampians district like Mount Langhi Ghiran “Langi “ where I would point the latter slightly higher.- both at a similar price. Tasted 57 weeks later on 4th February 2022 with similar notes - hint of tar. Pretty solid in this warm vintage. — 3 years ago

Stopped off at a lifelong friends apartment. He likes wine but it does not go beyond that. Says to me after pulling several bottles ( including 2 Rockford BP) from the corner of a very warm room, “What should I do with these wines?” Trying to remain calm, I said , “I think you need to open one.”
Surprisingly, the cork was intact, but totally soaked to the top. What we encountered was a red/purple wine that looked like it was bottled a few years ago. The nose was big and full of dark fruit along with some oak but zero alcohol Taking a small taste I was absolutely taken back by the juiciness & deep plummy flavors swirling around my mouth. I noted very little secondary flavors but the level of acidity shocked me. Tannins were soft and the fish was modest. — 25 days ago
