While this is so good and what a way to reintroduce myself back to red wines - amazing - we had to fight off wine zombies at our local high end burger joint as they saw our faces and knew the wine was speaking no screaming to us “I don’t like it, I LOVE it” as my friend @David L says but we escaped with our lives and enjoyed our wine

We kept drinking listening to Bon Jovi Wanted Dead or Alive while our horses got hydrated (well 500 horses in HP) as we did as well drinking this brilliant example of Cabernet Sauvignon from my new great friends @Mike Smith and Leah Smith - thank you so much - I praise you as I love this as much as one of top fives which is Quivet LPV 2013 which we discussed as well when we were together - this is different and Rhonda says it has a strong hint of vanilla beans that makes the scent unique and pleasant - I doubt she is right

The music changes to Dave Matthews and we taste to wine and man does the palette get pleased and finessed like a sexy women talking to me which I am lucky as that is my wife

The length of the taste is like watching your breathe on a cold day as Stone Temple Pilots plays on the speaker and really enjoying this masterpiece of wine craftsmanship / bravo Mike

This was one of the red wines I served for my annual WWC hosting, alongside a 2016 Pellegrin Gamay, 2017 Chacra CyC, and 2015 Force Majeure estate Syrah.

As all wines are tasted blind, I totally get the guesses of Cayuse-like Syrah. The 100% whole cluster use here is undeniably distinct. For the most part, it seems to be a love it or hate it style (I love it). By the time we all got to this, it had been in the glass 1-2hrs. Deep purple, with massive stemmy/green aromatics that hit you in the face. Wintergreen notes, too. On the palate, it’s funky, herbal, spice driven notes wrapped around underripe blackberries and rhubarb. This is a floral, savory, spicy Syrah at 8yrs that seems crazy youthful. The only thing better than this Bressler today was the company of my friends, family, gorgeous wife, daughter & grand daughter!!! Wine truly encapsulates an event and I could not think of a better way to highlight this Fathers day than to uncork a beautiful vintage that I've been saving for a special occasion. I killed 4 bottles of Bressler today. It was my 1st time tasting his 2013. Absolutely freaking amazing. Big, bold, Rich and opulent. Bob Bressler is a master at his craft. I've never lead any of you wrong before in regards to wines that I am passionate about. No Bullshit: buy this. Freaking amazing! I was snapping necks all day!! People would immediately turn and say "Holy shit, what is this!?!?!". I've said this a thousand times but I'll say it again: Bressler flys under the radar. Snatch up as much as you can right from the winery at a great price. Bob is a badass winery owner and loves it when you call!! Call on Tuesday since I'll be calling on Monday for another case and want to be sure that he has capacity!!!! Believe me., you won't regret it!!
This was the wine of the day and everything else we enjoyed was such a distant 2nd that I won't even post them! Bob deserves today's title of being the "Bad ass in a glass " wine of the night! Bravo my friend @Bob Bressler !!!!! — 8 years ago

Part 1 of the final and main event for the Fall WNH. The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.

A baby, but already strutting its power. This is no doubt a modern take on Bordeaux with more rich/sweet black and blue fruit than others, but it reigns in before it gets too Nap-esque as the fruit is more underripe. Mid palate and finish show dark chocolate, bay leaf and a touch of leather. Because of the style, not too adverse to opening now with a 2-3hr decant, but this will improve for many years. Ripe, rich dark fruit nose...notes of iron, earth, bloody meat on the attack. Elevated alcohol, but somehow balanced by ripe plummy fruit. Long lingering finish. Definitely better with food and wearing its ten year age gracefully . Still pumping out pleasure. Bravo to Mike Officer;; still a bargain and still a gem in my cellar! — 7 years ago

Just a touch cloudy... but the most awesome blast of blackberry, tobacco and kirsch notes. Smooth and silky on the palate, no notice of alcohol and zin's normal pepper notes are gone. Perfect foil to filets. I love old Zinfandel and I love old Carlisles in particular. Bravo Mike Officer! — 8 years ago
