2010 DANA ONDA, wow, maybe not the strongest middle pallet but the rest of it blows me away. The richest dark fruit nose and entry, not sweet just killer fruit, and the finish is so well blended. I would put this up against any 2010 cab and I’m a big fan of the vintage. I have one left and while I think it will last for a while I’ll drink it again in 5 years as I have the 2010 Lotus in waiting! — 7 years ago
Final wine for 2017, appropriately so because it was good. Pop and pour. Huge wine, purple black color, rich fruit, grilled meats on the nose, thick viscous blackberries, currants, ink and dried blood. Would score higher but this needs another more time maybe 5-10 years. — 7 years ago
This was nice, maybe a bit too young, nice broad dark fruits, heavier style but that’s somewhat expected with Johns wines. — 6 years ago
So, I’m tempted to score this higher based upon the wines pedigree and my affinity for all wine CdP, but I’m rating it where it stands today. I think it’s way too young, have a couple left and won’t check back in for 8-10 years (ok 6-8).
Initially very tight, dry tannin, hard to get much flavor, on the second day the fruit emerged and was showing nicely, but the dry tannins remained though less intense. The 1989 vintage of this wine is one of the best if not the best wine I’ve ever had, pretty sure this will not get to that level, but given some time I think it will shine. — 7 years ago
Super Bowl Sunday! Decanted for 2+ hours, super dark, almost black, sweet nose, acid mid pallet challenges the fruit and continues through to the finish where it blends with the tannins. This needs time to (hopefully) develop. — 7 years ago
Very nice wine for an “off” vintage, all the CdP characteristics come to play here. Just a nice wine in a great place wish I could get this on a regular basis. Fruit is up front without being in your face, no sweetness but great balance, must be the 100+ year old vines. — 7 years ago
No detailed notes but this was in a nice place flavor/finish wise. Drinking nicely but still can easily make it at least another 3-5 years, possibly longer. Certainly one of my favorite winemakers John is both a nice guy and showcases his talent excelling with the Rhône varieties as a trailblazer. Bravo! — 7 years ago
Special wine for a special night (anniversary) this wine is everything it’s made out to be. Sweet pure fruit nose, perfume in the glass, sweet fruit flavors mineral driven, with the acid, fruit and tannin in harmony. Very smooth, just want to sip it all night long. Has plenty of time left, so much for the 07 CdP naysayers. — 7 years ago
In magnum, big hit with the masses, no detailed notes as the night was getting late. — 7 years ago

This wine amazed me, I’ve had it before and it’s never shown this well, maybe just hitting it’s stride? Beautiful perfumed floral nose ( never thought I would say that about a Dunn), exquisite balance, the fruit is slightly sweet, the tannins are fully integrated and refined, with just the right amount of acid in the finish. I would never guess mountain fruit or let alone Dunn if tasted blind. Can’t wait to try it again in a couple of years. — 6 years ago
