Nice with some bottle age. A bit over the top with plum, blueberry, lilac, vanilla and biscuit. Age has softened the wine and added caramel and roasted chestnut. Palate coating and generous with resolving tannin. Not my style - a bit too ripe - but good with some grilled hamburgers.

May 3rd, 2021Seemingly cruisin' along at 10 years... who says zin doesn't age.. ripe olive, black pepper and eucalyptus notes... ooze from the glass and caress the palate. Tannins are resolved, alcohol integrated. Ripe plummy fruit moving towards more savory, herbal accents, this wine rocks with simple burgers and Mac and cheese watching the Grammies. Bravo Mike Officer and bless you for keeping things real with your pricing!

Feb 13th, 2017Another winner from my fav Zin producer, the bright purple '07 Carlisle Zinfandel 'Carlisle Vineyard' emits layered scents of black raspberry, briary black fruits, smoky peppered bacon, licorice and spice. It's powerful, but beautifully balanced with grippy tannins and a juicy lingering finish. Superb stuff!
