Been a while since I have had a Zin and this was is not an over the top/extracted version. Nicely done, somewhat restrained, but a great nose. It was better on the pop and pour versus getting more air so it has that going for it. Every other bottle of wine I have been drinking seems to want air forever. — 3 months ago
Delicious, lemon, melon, some greenness, oily — 7 months ago
Rich and structured, label says a little Zinfandel was added, which accounts for the spicy, brambly notes, earthy notes as well, drinking very nicely tonight, very nice Petite Sirah!! The only vintage I purchased, this may be the very first Carlisle Petite Sirah (about 75 cases, the back label says). — 3 months ago
Drinking beautifully at present - Prost! — 5 months ago
Have had the pleasure of drinking a few Carlisle Zins the past few years. All have been delicious. Wonderfully made. This 15-year-old is still in near perfect harmony with the tannins and fruits. The continued high-quality from this winery is impressive. — 4 months ago
More terrior than fruit which I prefer, but a good amount of both. — 7 months ago

Primarily Zinfandel (88%) with many other Red and White varieties making up the balance. Dark ruby color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of red and black berry/cherry fruit with hints of fresh herbs, red flowers and asphalt. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry, black plum, black licorice and roasted herbs. Hint of spice on the long and luxurious finish. Quite elegant and pristine. Rich and pronounced but extremely harmonious. Well crafted and balanced but extremely harmonious and delicate at the same time. Excellent! Appreciate the wonderful gift, Kase! — 2 days ago
