v12. This is really good! Soft, smoked, candied Black Cherry nose. Juicy, rich, dark black cherry and a touch of tar fruit. Long, slightly dry, pepper and mocha finish. Very good! — a month ago
It is easy to expect an erupting volcano in one’s mouth when you see the name Dal Forno. Yes, this was a powerful wine but thanks to sufficient acid and time in the decanter the weight and intensity of the fruit was held in check. A wonderful accompaniment to the Peking Duck.. — 2 months ago
The 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella is an elegant beauty, with cooling herbal tones and cloves embellishing baked cherries and hints of incense. This opens with a lovely inner sweetness, its ripe red and black fruits energized by vibrant acidity. Violet florals and suggestions of cocoa swirl throughout. The 2010 finishes long—still slightly tannic yet coming into its own, leaving a mentholated freshness and a tinge of cinnamon spice that lingers on. While this is made in the older style of Dal Forno, sporting just over six grams-per-liter of residual sugar, 17% alcohol and 100% American oak, the balance is absolutely perfect. Light bodied, dry and semi-sweet, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Paired well with an eggplant parmesan dinner as it balanced out the sweetness of the red sauce. — 2 months ago
Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of bramble berries, purple flowers and fresh herbs. Red raspberry, red currant and red cherry flavors dominate the palate with a hint of blueberry, roasted nuts and wet soil. Nice savory finish. Very little tannin and a nice amount of acidity. — 2 months ago
v10. Lucky me, I don’t know why I still have a v10, but it is fantastic. I will take a chance and call it “ at peak”. Cork came out clean. Solid purple color. Soft, pleasing bacon nose. Bright cherry, and dark black cherry fruit medley. Smooth, slightly tart, but round, zippy, mocha finish. Nicely balanced. Would not share ! — a month ago
A quick CV tasting with Margaret L on her return trip stopover. Nicely balanced and lithe with long finish and the Nebbiolo flavors of earthiness and liveliness. — 2 months ago

Dark cherry, earth, and pepper aromas. Smooth as silk with a nice long finish. Always loved their Moscato di Asti and now know they do an excellent Barbaresco! — 17 hours ago
