Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
We’re breaking out the Burgundy with this 2011 Domaine Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin, one of nine grand cru climats in Gevrey-Chambertin located in the Côte de Nuits.
It’s a beautiful crimson hue trending garnet around the edges.
On the nose and palate are medium (+) intensity notes of Luxardo cherry, black raspberry, dried redcurrant, strawberry rhubarb preserves, rose water, cardamom and other sweet baking spices, star anise, anise seed, licorice, clove, pencil shavings, sandalwood, potpourri, mushroom, leather, moss, and forest floor.
It has a smooth mouthfeel with ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, elegant finish. It is layered with complexity, dimension, and wonderful balance. All around superb!
Cheers to the holidays; savor it all!! — a month ago
Medium Ruby color with aromas dark red fruits, black tea and ample floral spice, aged in 20% new French oak for 10 months. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum with tobacco, cedar, black pepper, tea and vanilla spice. Soft fine tannins, long finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit, herb, spice and earthy wet stone character. Nice! — 13 days ago
Depth and concentration, this bottle is an ode to south saint joseph wines, with great balance and complexity. To achieve a better grade I need more finesse, but the vintages is also like that — 14 days ago

Medium lemon colour . Quite rich with lemon rind , honied notes , buttered popcorn and orange flowers. On the palate much more strict and linear , with ripe apricot , lemon rind , orange , lovely intensity and balanced acidity . After a while more mineral and linear , intense acidity . This is drinking well with time in the glass , but will continue to improve over the next 5 years or so and continue well a further 5 . — 2 days ago
