Barbe Rac Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2011

Alex Lallos

Beautifully evolved cdp. I always prefer this to croix de bois. Lovely ruby color with aromas of red plum, kirsch, fig, anise and baking spices. A little bit of dusty earth as well. On the palate it is suave and not aggressive in the least. I am really beginning to prefer the less ripe and flamboyant vintages like 2011 and 2006. This is a prime example — 18 days ago

Les Greffieux Ermitage Syrah 2001

So much better than the Jaboulet from a couple of days ago. This is fantastic: smoke, vanilla, brine, game, so expressive. On the palate, lovely acidity, cocoa powder, blackberry, pepper, brambles. Soft tannin on the surprisingly spritely finish. — 24 days ago

Petite Ruche Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Syrah

— 3 days ago

Belleruche Côtes-du-Rhône Grenache Blend Rosé

Take a bit of time to open up, herbal and earthy notes shine with the fruit, bright and refreshing. Cherry and watermelon, bright acid, herbal minerality, strawberry on finish. — 2 months ago

Perle Sauvage Petillant Naturel Rosé

Really like this. Was a recommendation of Warren at Weygandts wine. Better than the white version - I think because it has slightly more brightness and dry fruit. — 6 days ago

Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Côtes du Roussillon Blanc Grenache Blanc Blend 2017

Red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of the vineyard of Bila-Haut from M. Chapoutier.

Wine has very deep concentration, with a very garnet color and shows signs of rim variation. Staining occurs medium to heavy, and has evidence of gas in my opinion.

It’s like a volatile acidity, yet has a moderate intensity with a devoting age assessment. It is coming to see earth character, but also cherry and black currant.

It’s a very off-dry wine, yet shows some signs of sweetness when you leave the bottle open for a while. In my opinion, the wine is not bitter at all, has Med+ tannin and same for acidity. It’s not entirely full bodied, perhaps of the ages and the decanting (not necessarily needed as the age range is between 1-3 years and the 2017 now, is a perfect companion.
