Solera Reserva Palo Cortado Península Seco Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino

Dry with that hint of fino funkiness, maybe the best of the bigger sherry brands. — a year ago

San Emilio PX Solera Reserva Sherry Pedro Ximénez 1896

NV | I am not thát fond about PX but this Lustau blew me away. Luscious smell, multi layered with dates and currants, very vibrant and elegant. It might be that the combination with an Italian chocolate cake, raspberries and berries contributed to my high appreciation. Happiness ☺️. Fantastic effort, very balanced — 5 years ago

Los Arcos Medium Dry Amontillado Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino

A nice, highly drinkable Amontillado. Candied fruited, Mandarine peel and toasted nuts + a wonderful salty finish to the (slightly more than) off dry body.
Pass on the olives and salted almonds!

Palo Cortado Península Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Seco Dry Palomino Fino

Dark amber, very dry, high acidity, light-medium bodied. Toasted almonds, bitter green olives, a little oily, saline finish. You could probably drink this with just about any food and be in a good place. — 6 years ago

Almacenista Palo Cortado de Jerez Palomino Fino 1996

2020/4 as an aperitif with mussels, and with feijoada, Basque-style roast pork, etc.
This bottle was particularly woody and dry, but still with that caramel depth. A little rancid but not too much.

Rare Amontillado Escuadrilla Sherry Palomino Fino

2020 summer. I picked this up when I was itching for some sherry and had to go with the selection at Tokyu. Expecting something basic, I was pleasantly surprised - this had nice intensity and character. Very old and rare sherries aren’t quite the bargains they once were, but the basic bottles from good producers still are awfully satisfying and very fairly priced. — 6 years ago

Almacenista Palo Cortado Cayetano del Pino Palomino Fino 1896

This was even better than the other bottle I had, which was just a bit too rancio on the finish for my tastes. All kinds of woody goodness — 7 years ago
