Serralunga Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

Pale garnet. Nose: med + intensity, well ripe to baked red fruit (cherry, plum), floral, slight mineral. Toast and clove. Leather, mushroom, wet and dried leaves, meaty. Palate: dry, high acidity, med + to full body, high alcohol, high/pronounced tannins. Long finish. — 3 days ago

Luigi Tecce

Satyricon Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC Aglianico 2016

Plum sorrel leather wood smell, the taste is a wet, acidic tannin mass of plum, blackberry, that grips and dries the mouth by the end, slightly astringent but rich fruit is great — 4 days ago

Pira Barolo Riserva Nebbiolo 1996

The 96' Riserva Pira had my nose stuck in the glass the whole time. I just couldn't get enough of the incredible bouquet. Even the tail ends were intoxicating. Ahhh!!! Full-on rose petals, violet, plums, dried cherries, blueberries, tar, spices (cinnamon and clove especially), undergrowth, tabacco leaf, and balsamic tones. So complex and lifted. It's just ahhh and ahhhhhhhh again and again as this wine bombarded the olfacotry system. On the other hand, the palate was quite stubborn at the start, but eventually gave way to some sweet fruit notes of fresh cherries and plums, plus hints of stoney minerality at the end. It's thick and dense, with firm but well-honed tannins and ample acidity. So fresh and young that it just begs for time, but how can one resist the beautiful smells right now. Probably the best nebbiolo I've had in a while. — a month ago

Poliphemo Taurasi DOCG Aglianico 2011

Aglianico from the “prince of Taurasi” presents itself dark as the night. Still very young, shows dark fruit, smoke, crushed rock, flint and dark/bitter cacao. Full bodied, gripping tannins and with good acidity and a very long finish. It gained weight with time. Tecce is known for adding nothing (and subtracting nothing) to the wine and his vineyards are 80+ years old. It is a big but balanced wine that I enjoyed but I think will improve with age. — 3 days ago

Tenimenti Luigi d'Alessandro (Manzano)

Fontarca Viognier 2017

A light and supple Viognier that is delightfully food friendly. Nectarine, quince and a refreshing salinity combine deliciously.

A glass of this went into a sauce and the whole thing worked very nicely together. Unfortunately my wife and I ended up eating separately because the baby was freaking out in the midst of the much documented eight month sleep regression...

Gala 1 Mendoza Malbec Blend 2017

Nice find. Tabacco, dark chocolate notes and oak, caramel and coffee on the palate. When I bought it I did not pay attention to the blend proportions and I was expecting more of the tannat and PV but after I saw it it totally makes sense. Enjoyed even more accompanied by my best friends. — 6 days ago

Very enjoyable bottle! I agree that I would have preferred more Tannat, PV, and less of the Malbec, but this was truly an undervalued wine... we all loved it! Thank you for saving and sharing this special bottle with us! @Luciano Silva
