In the mouth it is very balanced, supple, fruity, peppery (syrah), licorice and spicy nuances with fruit and minerality. Superb for its price!

Un Côte du Rhône des plus solide, pour ce qui est du rapport qualité/prix/plaisir. Robe grenat-violine sombre. Nez complet, fruits noirs intense, menthol, garrigue, notes minérales promesse d’un beau relief. Mousset family has managed Clos Saint Michel for more than 6 decades, in Southern Rhône they have been active in wine for Much longer. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb and spicy notes, blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, all aged in older barrels. On the palate flavors of black cherry and ripe blackberry with cigar box and black pepper spice. Big firm tannins, nicely integrated, good balanced, long finish with solid ending. — 16 days ago

Still so young and tightly wound. After an hour in the glass opens up slightly with spicy and brooding aromas of plum, sweet tobacco, cherries, licorice. Hint of balsamic and earthy aromas as secondary notes star to emerge. Needs a few more years to integrate. — 18 days ago

I put my fork down halfway through dinner and logged into my local shop’s website so I could buy the last two bottles they had. Beautiful wine. On the nose and attack it’s like where’s the beef? Then it gets into your mouth and it’s all Burgundian fresh, feminine, incense, white pepper and perfume. Great syrah. — 3 days ago
