Turned into a beauty. Fully developed soft and mellowed out. Still nice fruit. Hint band aid, chocolate, bark. Dark ripe cherries. Hint blackberry and lime. Plenty of acidity. Could go 5 more years or so. At some point i have to take a look at the “Wanne” aka Bathtub vineyard. — 4 months ago
2016. Pulled from the cellar to add to a marinade for coq au vin and once opened and sampled, I can tell you I used a little less than called for in the recipe. Brilliant mature Burgundy…explosive nose of cherry, cassis, warming spice, and earth. Impressive balance, no browning or bricking, nice, round, silky mouth-feel and a long finish.
