Lava

Envinate

Táganan Vinos Atlánticos White Blend 2020

This one has fleshed out nicely over the last 2 years, showing better balance and integration of flavors. Acidity has become more mellow. Nose of lava/asphalt/petrol and grilled lemon. Very mineral, earthy, and austere on the palate as well. Lemony, smoky and salty finish. Almost like a shot of tequila…! 🌵 🍋 🧂
Singular and special.

Lava Cap

El Dorado Zinfandel 2022

I don't always drink Zinfandel, but when I do, I steal it from my friend's cabinet.

Lava Cap

El Dorado Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Quite fruit forward but not over powering and works well with a hearty dish. Enjoyed with a Bolognese of beef, pork, and veal. — 4 years ago

Terre del Vulcano

Lava Beneventano IGT Aglianico

Tanine has gone, blackberries and dark cherries are still there. Bit of iron minerality in the nose. Leather and tobacco warmth. Too bad they are going to run out. — 6 years ago

Big Winner! Amazing white fruit. Loads of jasmine but incredible backbone. Seek this wine out — 7 months ago

Antichi Vinai

Petra Lava Rosso Etna DOC Nerello Blend

Reminiscent of a Nebbiolo in its acidity and a Pinot noir in its minerality. You won’t find this much harmony in many other wines. — 3 years ago

Flor de Cana

Centenario 18 Slow Aged Single Estate Rum

Consistent notes from February 2019. Molasses Caramel etc and ultra smooth. A top quality rum from Nicaragua. Great minerality from all the old lava flows in that country where the sugar cane grows. 18 years old. — 5 years ago

Benanti

Rovittello Etna Rosso Nerello Cappuccio Blend 2014

Like a volcanic barbera. These can be tannic but five years of bottle age has smoothed the edges somewhat. Not that giving of the bat but evolves with charcoal, lava stones, spices and green olives. — 6 years ago
