This reminds me of how good Valpo’s used to be in the 60s and 70s before ripassos and appassiamento took over. (Possibly a tad riper thanks to global warming, though.) Ripe crunchy berry fruit, a bit of spice, almond extract, and some kind of non-oak wood (even though the back label says oak) in the lively nose. Soft and lively in the mouth, with a nice cleansing bitter note growing on the finish. Medium-light body. No tannin to speak of. Yummy pasta or pizza or salumi wine. Drink now! — 8 months ago

Very good value for money a great wine. Had it with lemon pasta and the pairing was a great hit. Make sure too drink it at room temperature to get the full benefit of this wine. I had it a bit too cold which closed it up a little, but have also had it at the right temperature and then it even works well on its own. Super duper crushable. This wine is the very definition of a summer wine. 100% Falanghina. The color of a sunset, this pours a slightly hazy copper salmon. On the nose it’s white flowers and stone fruit. On the palate, it’s ripened apricots, peach skin, rhubarb and bitters. Finish is lasting. Balanced. Works with simple meals. I truly hope Valentina has nothing to do with her Father’s (allegedly) shitty business practices. A truly compelling quaffer. — 6 years ago
