Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The NV Brut Nature pours a faint pink color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with winsome notes of ripe berries: raspberry, strawberry, white peach, lemon curd, brioche and minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and despite the zero dosage, the fruit comes across almost round…but in a really good and balanced way. Damn…I love Drappier! A stressful week came to a close with disappointing news. This wonderful champagnes consoles. Dark yellow color. Smells and tastes more mature than I expected from a 2012. This has a long finish and the closest I can describe the taste would be a Selosse. Not a champagne for everyone’s taste but I am glad I bought it and opened it tonight.
