Estate Vineyards Les Pavots Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014

2014 vintage. Decanted for approx 5 hours. Graphite, rose petals and chocolate covered cherries on the nose. Light-medium body. Silky raspberry/blueberry, milk chocolate and kirsch taste components. Wasn’t tasting like California. Beautiful. — 17 days ago

Dutton Ranch Hansen Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

Light golden in color.

On the nose ripe lemons, yellow apples, oak, light butter, citrus, vanilla, Indian spices, light honeysuckle and light tangerines.

Full bodied, creamy and bold, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red apples, oak, vanilla, citrus, spices, sea salt, white pepper and light earth.

Nice length on the finish with lemons and almonds.

This is a very tasty Chardonnay from Russian River Valley. Showing nice complexity, especially on the nose. I really enjoyed the nose more than the palate.

This four year old is drinking very nicely now with lots of oak and vanilla notes. Still very fresh.

Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 30 minutes of airtime.

This Single Vineyard Chardonnay is a good quality wine, that will continue to age nicely in the next five years. I've had this vintage a year ago, and it is much better now.

Nicely balanced with a great mouth feel. Buttery and creamy, and better when not very cold.

Aged in French oak barrels. A small production of only 350 cases.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Smells like strawberry (but dark) and something else…is that the lauded “cassis”? I’m not smart enough to know. Dark berry of some kind. A little dusty cocoa? Smells elegant and fruity. Very tasty and elegant so far. I’ll see how air changed it. EDIT: RAISE TO 94. You have to give this air and try it with steak - outstanding pairing, Licorice and tobacco emerge - in the best way. Not my favorite style, but a great example of what it is. — 7 days ago

Dry Creek Cuvée Grenache Blend 1994

A lineup of eight Grenache and Grenache blends exploring how long can they age? All from 1994-1999, four countries represented. Came in last dor the group but I ranked it much higher - found it elegant — 8 days ago

A golden, very reduced (little residual sugar) chardonnay. Tasty, but seemed even older than 8 years! — 6 days ago

Unoaked Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2019

Fresh and crispy, light acids combine with a smooth mouth to be a delightfully delicious and lingering flavor. Reminds me of Chablis and is everything I hope California chard’s can be. — 3 days ago

"Radiant Ridge Vineyard" Syrah 2018

Starts out as chocolate blueberry pie crust and finishes savory. The opening was great… but it did clamp up and shut down. So on the next one I’ll drink quick or lay it down a while. — 13 days ago

Knights Valley Red Blend 2018

A very nice and entertaining red blend from Sonoma County. Showing black fruits with vanilla, earth, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, peppercorn, cola and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with nice complexity.

Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

Still young and would be better in a few years.

Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.

A blend of 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 22% Petit Verdot, 12% Merlot and 8% Petite Sirah. Aged for 17 months in French Oak barrels.

14.6% alcohol by volume.
