Another Costco Hawaii Kai find for $12. Great value, had twice. — a year ago
See previous 2 notes. Showing ripe grapefruit on nose and palate with high quality French Oak as a component and not dominating. Good palate concentration and just an outstanding Chardonnay in any company. Welcoming our son Hugh home temporarily from NYC and Georgie from Copenhagen. Hadn’t seen either of them for 3 years. Went well with a kilo of Mooloolaba Prawns. As in a previous note I will have the 2 remaining bottles in 2023 and 2024. — 3 years ago
2015 vintage from magnum.
Bright ruby colour.
Perfumed nose with cherry, plums and dark flowers.
Smooth and savoury with medium acidity, red fruits, earthy, herbs and well developed rounded tannins.
This wine is food friendly.
I got a kilo of local Matsutake mushrooms from a forager friend and made risotto.

Bought at Hawaii Kai Costco. I don’t think I’ve had this vintage. Pleasant enough for the price point. Would buy again. Not remembering the cost. — a year ago
2017 vintage.
Bright ruby colour.
Raspberry, dried dark flowers, tar and tobacco.
It has a floral and freshness.
Dried cherries, truffles, sweet spices and menthol.
Rustic with earthy richness.
Harvested in 4 sites. Rive in La Morra, Scarrone in Castiglione di Falletto, Baudana and Broglio in Serralunga.
I had a kilo of local fresh Matsutake mushrooms and made risotto with compound truffle butter. — a year ago
Honey roasted campfire. Awesome with anything umami bomb. An excellent representation of Tokaji for the kai-curious. Cork responsibly. — a year ago

Elegant, like Lignier's Chaffots, but less tense and more round. Kai reckons it's due to some premature development (due to less than ideal storage), which I agreed. For a 15', the fruit should have been livelier, especially from this producer. Still delightful. Bouquet of dried strawberries, black cherries, cedar, and earth. The palate has a inner sweetness. Intense minerality permeates the mid-palate. Finishes with candied orange and earthy notes. Shorter, compared to the Lignier. Definitely the weaker pino of the night, but that might not have been the case if we had a perfect bottle 😉 — 5 years ago
Wai Min Higa
Very nice. Light beginning, heavy mid to after. Feel tannins, full body and quite “round - smooth carved edges” impression but fruity easy to drink lightness that makes it sticky. Toward Merlot? 65% Petit Verdot, 24% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon. Need to try again. — 2 months ago
