Solid white, easy drinking. No dry after taste and in Azores regularly on sale for about 3euros a bottle — 8 months ago
In beautiful shape, better than I remember the last bottle being. Dried red and black fruits, dry dusty tannins, forest floor, dried porcini mushroom and old leather umami nodes, cedar, dried herbs. Did I mention it’s dry? But it’s a beautiful wine, the flavor profile exudes sun baked warmth but the alcohol clocks in at less than 12% so it doesn’t fatigue the palate — 2 years ago
Holy smokes this is good! My expectations were modest due to my stereotyping its Santa Clara County provenance, but I stand corrected. This is apparently an old-vine blend featuring about 50% Zin and a mix of Carignane and Mataro (Mourvèdre) to round it out. The purity of the black and red berries on the nose is remarkable. A bit of crushed stony earth. In the mouth, there’s tremendous flavor concentration but with an athletic mouthfeel that balances nice acids and super-soft tannic support. Great length. Color me duly impressed. Shoulda got more. 14.5% alcohol thank you very much. — 6 months ago
Classic Italian Grillo Mary — 6 months ago
Deep ruby in color; plum, blackberry, and a little black cherry on the nose; high acidity; tastes like sour cherries, blackberries, and black pepper; more savory than fruity; smooth tannins and a long finish. An interesting experience. It's probably good with meat dishes. Maybe steak. Opened up a lot after some aeration. It's not fruity, but it's definitely a quality wine. — 2 years ago
