Glen Scotia

Double Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This is a perfect introduction to Glen Scotia. I’ve loved every sip I’ve taken of every Glen Scotia and this is kind of their house style and it’s most basic and straightforward form. I can’t say the “double barrel” added a huge amount of oakiness, but I prefer it that way. This features the great Glen Scotia notes of caramel, tobacco, stewed apples, brine and a little bit of smoke. A pretty amazing value. — a month ago

Levantine Hill

Glen Garvald Yarra Valley Muscadelle 2020

This is actually the Ornelias label
Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon 60/40
Mimicking the Ornellaia and doing it pretty well too. Glen Garvald is a Levantine Hill side venture.

Laurel Glen

Cabernet Sauvignon 1985

Shows a little of the bell pepper aromas that I often found in older Sonoma Cabs, but nicely balanced fruit that is still quite youthful, tannins have mostly receded, drinking quite well tonight, bravo Patrick for making this gem!! — a year ago

Galen Glen

Stone Cellar Grüner Veltliner

Ah Gruner.

Nice clear pale yellow.

Melon, mineral, tropical fruits, pineapple, and a bit of petrol.

Slight slight effervescent quality. Great, solid expression of gruner. Chalky, loamy, pineapple, and limestone.

Glen Carlou

Paarl Chardonnay 2020

Fruit forward, but with nice butter and oak notes. Good with BBQ, but the oakiness can be overpowered by the food. — 6 months ago

Wind Gap Wines

Luna Matta & Glen Rose Vineyards Nebbiolo 2006

My last bottle from the defunct yet memorable winery.

Smells so delicious, like a fruit yogurt

This drinks like it is fresh, with blackberry bramble, subtle and unique red fruits tucked behind the leather ones.
Tannins are still very gripping, and the acidity tames it back. A touch of heat and its off to the races!

You probably wanted to hang on if the winery is no more. Cheers!🍷
