These are the perfect Birthday bubbles!
They’re brought to us by one of our favorite “grower” producers – Paul Bara – situated in Bouzy, a grand cru village in the Montagne de Reims ⛰️ region of Champagne.
Paul Bara owns the entire production process from beginning to end, carrying forward seven generations of family history and tradition, with winemaker Chantal Bara now at the helm.
This is the 2016 Paul Bara vintage special club rosé. It was made with mostly Pinot Noir (70%) along with some Chardonnay (30%) for brightness.
It is pale salmon 👁️ with medium(+) intensity of lemon peel, mandarin pith, white peach, green apple, raspberry, strawberry, toast, pastry, and blanched almond 👃🏻 👄 . The mousse is fine-beaded and well-integrated. It is dry with a creamy mouthfeel and elegant finish.
It’s positively delicious!
Cheers to another trip around the sun ☀️ and Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing Mamas! — 7 months ago
Delicious Merlot with a caramel scent and juicy but balanced taste. — 3 years ago
In 1829, Champagne Bollinger introduced an instantly recognizable, dry, toasty style that has been coveted ever since. Six generations of the Bollinger family have maintained that trademark style, and still owned and managed by the same family since it was founded. Gold color with a nose of fruit and baking spices. On the palate apple and peach, toasty notes with great bubble flow. Long crisp finish ending with yeasty mineral tones. Nice! — 25 days ago
Speris began working as vine growers in Valpolicella seven generations ago. Deep Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits and sweet smoky spices. On the palate flavors of ripe plum and sweet berries with cacao, spice and fig flavors. Fine tannins, long complex rich finish ending with fruit, tobacco and earthy notes, good structure. Will continued to get better with age, good now. Sustainable. — a year ago
A legacy CdP from the collection. Haven’t had in many years - with the age it’s certainly nice. Though, quite full bodied and somehow still somewhat austere, and with not enough acid to really keep it all refined. Nice enough with skirt steak on the grill. — 4 months ago
Juan Gil Jiménez first built his winery in 1916 in Jumilla, and passed it down to his future generations. From 100% Certified Organic Monastrell (or Mourvèdre in France), in chalky, stony soils, aromas of dark berry fruits and woody spice. Aged 12 months in French oak, palate shows blackberry and plum with smoky wood flavors and notes of cacao and cinnamon spice. Soft ripe tannins, medium+ ending with a light toasty earthy character. Great value! Very nice! — 5 months ago
Bressan. Nine generations of winemakers. Respect.
Very good pinot noir, wait, pinot nero. Herbs or green tea, spicy finish (pepper), some sweet fruity hints. — 3 years ago

This Cabernet begins with a glistening dark amethyst color followed by a bouquet of sweet cigar, clove, ripe blackberry, and a pinch of Madagascar vanilla. On the palette, blackberry, jammed plum, French oak and tobacco…a full bodied wine with an exceptional finish that continues to linger until the next sip! — 25 days ago
