Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

The twin’s 2nd Birthday Party!! Magnum that required decanting as the cork broke. Lovely dark cherry nose and flavor. Excellent texture and is probably at prime drinking age. I really enjoyed this. — 5 days ago

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Pale lemon-lime with fragrant aromas of tropical and citrus fruit and hints of garden spice. The palate shows fresh fruit flavors of peach, mango, lemon zest, and crisp green apple, with the subtle earthy mineral tones. The wine has lively acidity on a medium+ length finish ending refreshing with clean fruit tones. Very Nice! Tasting Sample. — a month ago

Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee lunch. Normal format of 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind.

Magical. Pristine. Jaw dropping how this is drinking now at 41yrs. So much life left here and the fruit is still so clean and vibrant. Soft black cherries, plum, fig, Andes mint and sweet tobacco aromatics. Dusty to the core with more Andes chocolate mint, sandalwood, and underripe red fruits. Screams Bordeaux except for the finish showing a touch of sweetness. Incredible stuff. I called this late ‘80s Napa Cab.

Its no Heitz,
But for a $100.00 magnum it’s a pretty good deal, great fruit without any bricking at all. 2 hour decant,

Giving an inexpensive wine some time in the bottle makes a big difference, not all the time but I’d say 70% success rate. Sometimes a $30.00 bottle dies after 10-20 years. Need to pick a good producer and stick with them, K&L has these
So easy to find older vintages now so I gave up trying to save them that long myself,
