2021 vintage. Tasted via Coravin. So the deals definitely afoot in Napa (and elsewhere in CA) currently. This was light-medium/medium body. Not the biggest Cabernet footprint on the delicate palate. But wow...immediately engaging and intimate simultaneously. Having tasted the late 60's, some 70's, most of the 80's, and nearly all of the 90's-2010's vintages of this at some point...actually feel like this is the wine this property has always wanted to make since inception. It's pure, authentic, and pared to the bone. Zen-like. No fluff, no fat. Tasting a Cabernet like this reminds me (yet again) how bastardized things have truly gotten along CA Hwy 29. Picked up two 6-packs and we'll see how it does. Leaner and biting-playfully. So unlike nearly all Napa cabs these days so it comes across as a huge palate/Napa Cab market reset now. Have been able to take or leave BV over the decades compared to Phelps, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Dunn, Diamond Creek, Mondavi, Mayacamas, Heitz and the rest of the really old guard but blind taste this against any 2020 or newer Napa Cab and/or Bordeaux and see where it slots for you. 8.5.26. — a month ago
Crispy Heitz Cellar Quartz creek vineyard Chardonnay 21 @17600, Pieroth, 251117 — 10 months ago
Medium bodied. Tastes like dark chocolate but not too heavy. — 4 years ago
It was good. Beautiful ruby red. Did not have as much bouquet as I expected. Acidity was good. Vibrant but elegant. Decanted 2 hours and had over around 2-3 hours. Essentially no sediment, just a little bit of fine grains at the end. — 2 days ago
Decant for sediment(minimal) and pour. An amazing still deep dark purplish magenta with a little bricking. On the nose: Intoxicating perfumed notes of dark fruit, herbaceous, sandalwood, menthol, forest floor, smokey cedar. Taste: silky, classic, delicious wine with blackberry, dusty earth, charcoal, saline, and a spiced vanilla cedar long finish. YUM!! It's what's you want in a aged Napa cab with time to go. — 2 months ago

A big red burgundy. Medium body, chewy medium tannins, high acid, medium alcohol, and a complex, long finish. Dark cherry, wild strawberry, plum, pomegranate, cinnamon, clove, and nice minerality. Definitely age worthy, but drinking well now. A real show stopper. — 3 months ago
Deep ruby color. Aromas of dark cherry, plum, eucalyptus and baking spice. Blackberry on the palate, nutmeg/clove, earthy finish. — 7 months ago
Bright white Burgundy (Chardonnay) served with scallops at The Banks Seafood restaurant, Back Bay, Boston — 2 years ago
Beaujolais Nouveau is always fun. Very fruity with cherry notes. One of the better Noveau’s. Easy drinking during the holidays — 4 years ago
Deep plum, robust currant, and solid wet earth. Love the memories of late Gino with this wine. Thank you Tom. Thank you Nate 🍷 — 2 days ago
Some serious structure holding up a palate of smoky red fruits, cracked pepper, & violets, & yet drinks very integrated & svelte— the nine years of aging feel pitch perfect for drinking now. Short decant. Paired with a chorizo clam tomato based stew, asparagus & silken tofu salad w sesame dressing, and unfortunately, a Knicks finals loss. — 3 months ago

Deff old word style… 2018, drinking very well. Med plus body good acidity, dark fruit and earth notes abound. — 8 months ago
Lemon, oak, white peach, high acid, medium alcohol, and long finish. — 3 years ago
Regal, powerful, rich, layered with minerality, 2019 Perrieres is fantastic, gaining weight and precision in the decanter and unfurling beautifully over the course of dinner. It’s laser focused, with both richness and clarity and the palate has such an elegant texture. Really lovely bottle. — 3 years ago
