I remembered that I drank the year 2009 of this wine about four years ago. I brought a bottle from Greve in Chianti (from my favorite Enoteca Falorni). My rating then was 9 (on Delectable). I didn't write any note so I don't remember what was so special about it.
But this one has a fantastic balance. It makes this wine so powerful and overwhelming. I adore connection between a vanilla, a chocolate and a pepper. I read some opinions below - none mentioned the pepper, so maybe I'm wrong, but I don't care. — 6 years ago

Prunes and underbrush, old wood trunks, sageys, lush fruit, supple palate and well integrated tannins, from 40 year old vines a really nice example from Greve in Chianti. — 8 years ago

This is a serious wine - understated, tannic, alot going on. Agree w other reviewers that this vintage may be a bit young to crack open - didn't feel fully integrated yet. — 11 days ago
