Bin No 1 Great Western Shiraz 2019

Meaty, charcuterie notes together with black and blue fruits. The palate is rich and savoury - full bodied on the earthy spectrum with ripe plum. Bests are an under the radar Gem in the Grampians. It should be a regular purchase particularly at the price. An average price of around $30. — 3 days ago

Don't tell Gary Shiraz 2020

Vintage 2020 | Licorice in smell, cherries, blackberries, I thought it to be pinot noir because it has a certain frivoliy. Wine with a story. Good effort. — 7 months ago

Les Grisières St. Joseph Syrah 2015

Dense dark crimson in colour. Aromas of blackberry, pepper, and a whiff of charcuterie. On the palate much the same descriptors of blackberry and black pepper, medium plus bodied, finishing with persistent smooth tannins. Not as fruit driven as some top Australian Shiraz but then again should be compared with a top Shiraz from the Grampians district like Mount Langhi Ghiran “Langi “ where I would point the latter slightly higher.- both at a similar price. Tasted 57 weeks later on 4th February 2022 with similar notes - hint of tar. Pretty solid in this warm vintage. — 3 years ago

Sparkling Shiraz 2019

Picked this up while visiting the winery this morning, brand new release, dark purple color, some spritz, but no real tannins so drinks beautifully tonight, balanced, solid finish, I’ve heard these age for quite some time, but I didn’t make it 6 hours since purchase!! 😎🙄😁 — 6 months ago

Old Vines Pinot Meunier 2016

This wine is somewhat of a unicorn being made from vines planted in 1868 believed to be the oldest Pinot Meunière vines still being used to make wine in the world. I decanted this wine but probably no need as there was zero sediment. Colour was a transparent light Ruby red. A palate of bright red cherries with a toffee note. Light to medium weight palate. Not as complex as an older example I once tried which was stunning and different. This has a long life ahead of it. This is the first of 3 and not ready yet. — a year ago

Mount Langi Ghiran

Shiraz Blend 2009

There are many tasting notes of mine on Delectable over several vintages as it has always been one of my favourite Australian reds. Dark Ruby with a lighter crimson edge. White ground pepper with fresh spices and black fruits (black cherry). Charcuterie. Ticks so many boxes. The only disappointing aspect has been the steady increase in price to now be sitting at around $200 reflecting its status in the Australian red wine hierarchy. — 3 months ago
