Graciano Rosé

R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2012

NOSE: muted, red fruit, oaky vanilla, graphite

TASTE: super smooth, the fruit is candied and dried (cherry and maybe some fig?), mild spices and earth and fragrant wood — still enough acidity to keep it balanced. I like more fruit and oomph, but it is good. 92.

I have a soft spot for this Austrian Winery. They used to have a tasting room in Passau/Germany. Their Rieslings are great across the board and their Grüners actually have depth.

The grounds belong to the monks - and for some time they still made Messwein. Wine for the church.

La Rioja Alta

Gran Reserva 904 Rioja Tempranillo Graciano

Beautiful tempranillo led wine with 10% graciano from one of the benchmark vintages in the past 25 years. This Gran Reserva has legs for the long run but perfectly approachable now! — 19 days ago

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2019

Glowing salmon rose gold. Smells like sour peachy-O's and blood orange. Still very full of life, equal parts cream and acid, fruity with herbs on the periphery.

Consistently wonderfully predictable.

Late disgorged 2/27/25. Deep rose color. Not sure I like the style. Have been drinking these wines for years this being the first LD — 18 days ago
