From a Ken Wright vineyard, Ruby color with aromas of dark red/blue fruits, black tea, herb and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blueberry, blackberry and plum with tobacco, cedar, black pepper and herb spice. Smooth fine tannins, long finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit, herb, spice and mineral stone character. Wish cork was protected and not exposed. Tasting Sample. Almost opaque… light brick red with a touch of browning. Cherry, violet, hint of ripe orange. Served slightly chilled with grilled pork loin with teriyaki fresh peach glaze. This vintage is true to an Italian field blend, made from all Italian grapes harvested on the same day in September: 47% Sangiovese Piccolo, 34% Dolcetto, and 19% Ribolla Gialla (no Sauvignon Blanc this year).
