Firebird Legend

Nova Vita

Firebird Estate Grown Pinot Noir 2019

Stephen Howell

What a stunning Pinot, great value.
This had been open for 4 days and looking awesome. Great balance between fruit and classic Pinot Forrest floor savouriness. The fruit comes across like a beautiful fleshy mouthful. Really well balanced and approachable, attractive even for any level of Pinot drinker. Probably much brighter and leaner if I’d had on day 1.

Legend Fiddler Petite Sirah Blend 2017

Shiloh Winery Legend Fiddler 2017, Israel

Deep purple in color with a short reddish/ purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plum compote, raisins, dried fruits, oak, licorice, earth, chocolates, mocha, spices, herbs and black pepper.

Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blueberries, black currants, dried figs, cooked cherries, plums, cola, light oak, spices, vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, dark chocolates and earth.

Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Petite Sirah blend from Israel. Big, bold, rich and extracted. Fruit forward and elegant.

Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.

Nicely balanced and tasty right out of the bottle. Tannins show up after 30 minutes of airtime.

Good by itself and a great sipping wine. A good example of a pop and pour, good quality wine.

This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now, and it would be interesting to revisit it again in a couple of years.

I paired it with cheeses and crackers. Really enjoyed it with the Brie cheese.

A blend of 51% Petite Sirah, 33% Petit Verdot and 16% Shiraz. Grapes are grown in the Judean Hills region. Aged in French oak barrels for 15 months. Kosher and Mevushal. Unfiltered.

15% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

A delicious dram in great company! Celebrating a phone call with a Legend, a stint on the most petty and ill informed radio program in the Scottish speaking world, oh aye, and a wee Nobel Prize for Chemistry. Congrats again Dave! #Nobel-lshill — a month ago

This really is a legend! After 2 hours the wine was tasting like 10 years old. Very very impressive! Another 50 years ahead — 3 months ago

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

This quality and personality are normally found in Premier Cru and only the lack of extrapower doesn't allow me to compare it to a Grand Cru.
It's pure pleasure for your mouth.
Cola, mineral, persistence and intensity.
She is a legend.

Legend Honi Red Blend 2017

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim. Very intense color.

Strong nose of black currants, sweet plums, cedar, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, vanilla, cloves, licorice, spices and peppercorn. Really enjoyed the nose.

Full-bodied and intense, with medium plus acidity and long fat legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with cooked cherries, black plums, dried fruits, oak, vanilla, licorice, alcohol, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.

Spicy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a big and bold Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Israel.

Rich and extracted. Spicy with a nice mouthfeel. Not for the faint of hearts, but I found it very tasty.

Still young and would be better in a few years.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 3 hours in the decanter. Much better with some air, so be patient.

Feels very much like a California Petite Sirah. Interesting stuff.

I had it all by itself by the pool.

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 17% Malbec. Grapes were handpicked. Aged in French oak barrels for 15 months. Unfiltered. Kosher and Mevushal.

15% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Ansitz Dolomytos

Dolomytos White Blend 2007

Such a hard wine to get hold of this was
Not necessarily expensive, but it has such a long story behind that i can't even start
If you know Elisabetta Foradori this guy, mr Zierock, was her first husband and probably not a well mannered either
He was a strong biodynamic Steiner believer for my understanding and i truly thought this wine was going to be just off for some silly reason
On the other hand i find still a crisp fruit, there definitely been skin contact, such a chalky mineral that emphasises the ginger, the smokiness, the honeycomb and the very long after taste
Better when room temperature
I just cant believe that the legend of the Alps mountains has actually delivered so well
Just hope we could all think twice before putting anything else than fermented grape juice into winemaking
A very special bottle i had been holding on for such a long time..a real treasure..exciting emotion!!
