Frog's Leap

Shale and Stone Napa Valley Chardonnay 2020

Pale and lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with yeasty and toasty oak aromas, sat on lees for 6 months. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and peach with citrus zest and nutty oak notes, well balanced with acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and mineral character. Pair with a lane or red snapper with a tomato garlic compote topping. — 22 days ago

Trimbach

Alsace Riesling 2021

Pale yellow color. Aromas of stone fruit, white flowers and citrus. Very interesting flavor melange of pear, lemon, orange and pineapple. Slight stony note on the long lasting finish. Very crisp acidity and an interesting slightly creamy texture. Elegant, fresh, crunchy and lively! Very solid for its price point. — 2 months ago

Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

Gorgeous intensity. Posed with fresh pear, wet stone, cool salinity. Very precise and ordered but quietly delicious. Hints of green Apple and ocean spray. Really classy and excellent — 5 months ago

Bloom's Field Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2018

First up, this is made by Master Sommelier-Raj Parr & his business partner Sashi Moorman. I studied for my Sommeliers test one day with Raj.

Second, this is one of few Santa Rita Hills I like. Most are over extracted for me. IMHO, many drink like Cabernet-Pinot blends. This is not. It is more Burgundian in style.

The 2018 is starting to come around. It shows some nice evolution & integration.

Lush & ripe entry of; blackberries, dark cherries, both plums, strawberries, black raspberries, raspberries, cranberries, dry herbs are bountiful, mid, dark spice, a touch of smoke, grilled meats, moist clay, limestone, dry top soil, some menthol, eucalyptus w/ bark, mid berry cola, red, dark, blue & purple florals for days, excellent round acidity, nice; tension, structure, balance & elegant finish that lands on spice & softened earth that lasts nearly two-minutes.
