Big, rich, maybe just a little too ripe (as @Tom Casagrande pointed out in a note about an earlier vintage), but still a nice, solid, old vine field blend, Contra Costa County history!!

Solid good value daily wine. Earthy and complex dark fruits - dark cherry mostly - with spice and smoke. Well balanced. I like it’s uniqueness and am still trying to get a handle on the flavors. Probably best to be paired with slightly spicy food. Finish highlighted by a subtle lingering undergrowth.
