Fattoria Di Palazzo Vecchio

Il Palazzo

Riserva Chianti Sangiovese Blend 2010

Vintage 2010 | This reserva is made of 90% Sangiovese, 10% mix Canaiola and Colorino. Ripened on foudres from Slavonian and French oak. The wine has a velvety taste, vanilla and spices. I drank this Chianti several times, at this age I am really enthusiastic! Paired with spaghetti and meatballs in Napolitanen tomatosauce. — 12 days ago

Palazzo Schiavino

Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

Major decant needed. Nose is closed on open.
As it opens some lovely herbal notes.

Palate is clean. Tight. Closed.
As it opens tight cherry. Gorgeous.

Much better on day 2. delicious licorice. Fresh cherry fruit. Nose is blasting. Hand crushed mid season cherries. Spice. Roses. Some chocolate on the finish.

Either wait 5 years or decant 5 hours.

Bought from fass selections.

Allegrini

Palazzo della Torre Veronese Corvina Blend 2018

I bought and drank a fair amount of Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre back in the late 1990s, and always enjoyed them. First time in the past 20 years, this seems a little softer and polished, a little lower ABV (13.5 vs. 14+ in earlier vintages), this is vinified using conventional fermentation as well as some ripasso fermentation (think Amarone drying grapes on straw mats), and has some very nice complexity and length, very nice!! — 9 days ago

Azienda Agricola Valentini

Vecchio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2000

The incredibly rare and legendary 2000 vintage and a Montepulciano that’s simply in a league of its own! It took some time in the decanter to shed an initial funk and whiff of VA which had me worried but ultimately did, and showed fabulously. There’s an alluring “wildness” to this wine that’s just so intriguing. It’s incredibly complex, layered with aromas of dried red fruit, game, exotic spice, coffee beans, violets and a menthol freshness. Time in bottle has added elegance and detail and the palate is unbelievably silky with a finish that keeps on going. Special wine. — a month ago

Ponte Vecchio

Chianti Sangiovese Blend 2021

Has a light fragrance of spice and dark berries. Drinks smoothly and is light on the palate, while having some body and having a nice jammy feel and flavors!
Definitely worth the $20-$25 from Costco for the big 3L bottle!!
