Esprit Blanc de Tablas Roussanne Blend 2022

33% Roussanne, 32% Grenache Blanc, 14% Picpoul, muted aromatics, mineral and tart fruits on the palate, less oily/viscous than the 2021, lingering finish, I marginally prefer the better balanced 2021 to this 2022. — 20 days ago

Had this at a forgotten bottle in your cellar party and it was like visiting an elegant mountain resort that has not been taken over by a corporation. Old fading elegance — 3 months ago

Esprit de Pavie

Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

2018 vintage. A blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (20%), and Cabernet Sauvignon from diverse vineyards in Saint-Emilion and Côtes de Castillon owned by the Perse family. Aged for 15 months in used barrels from Pavie and Monbousquet. A solid, bold wine, ready to drink, with good fruit and some of the chalkiness that I associate with Castillon. Abv. 14,5%. — 7 months ago

This is definitely an extra dry. The champagne starts dry and finishes dry. In between there is nice green apple. A very nice drinking champagne!!! — 6 years ago

Château de Lussac

Lussac-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Deep ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of both red and black fruit, tobacco and violets. Flavors of red and black currant, blackberry and plum fruit, graphite and dark chocolate. Long and lingering finish. Medium-plus body. Excellent balance and structure. Quite bold and expressive, but very elegant as well. Soft tannins and velvety texture. Outstanding quality for the price. — 3 months ago

Esprit de Tablas Adelaida District Mourvedre Blend 2021

Read the hype, bought the bargain, drank it alone like a responsible adult. Too bad the 2021 is too young and tight-wound at first, but on day three it exhaled and pulled me completely inward. Magnetic. I am sold. Deep and complex, there are too many layers to name, but i immensely enjoy the fruit’s push against the savory pull. Quietly persuasive rather than flashy. — 7 months ago

Château La Rose Perrière

Lussac-St. Émilion Merlot Blend 2019

Clay and juicy cassis. Black olive. Tannins taste like an old varnished bureau. This is the wine that made me love wine again — especially French wine — and motivated me to start systematically tasting and making notes. Then of course my liquor store stopped carrying it. I was delighted to find a bottle while traveling. Still a wonderful value and delicious, though age would improve it. 92 or … 93! — 8 months ago

Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc Paso Robles Roussanne Blend 2018

Wasn't able to identify the grapes but man, this is a good white. Pleasant and complex. Baked custard, marmalade, and saline minerality. Then lively and juicy on the finish like biting into a fresh pear, complete with the little hint of pear skin tannin. — 2 years ago
