Blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Deep ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of both red and black fruit, tobacco and violets. Flavors of red and black currant, blackberry and plum fruit, graphite and dark chocolate. Long and lingering finish. Medium-plus body. Excellent balance and structure. Aged for 15 months in used barrels from Pavie and Monbousquet. A solid,bold wine, ready to drink, with good fruit and some of the chalkiness that I associate with Castillon. Read the hype, bought the bargain, drank it alone like a responsible adult. Too bad the 2021 is too young and tight-wound at first, but on day three it exhaled and pulled me completely inward. Magnetic. I am sold. Deep and complex, there are too many layers to name, but i immensely enjoy the fruit’s push against the savory pull. Quietly persuasive rather than flashy. — 10 months ago

This is definitely an extra dry. The champagne starts dry and finishes dry. In between there is nice green apple. A very nice drinking champagne!!! — 6 years ago
