New Year’s Eve leftovers forgotten (open) in the fridge after an epic night and a full day of napping. So after 36 hours it’s still pretty righteous amber bliss, a bitter edge with singular notes of butterscotch, anise, petrol, citrus rind, pine, and the faintest bit of untanned leather on the way way back....nice performance. very easy late morning armchair drinking. vendor says 2015 but the bottle is not marked. — 24 days ago
Quickly becoming my favorite Jura Pinot this is a knockout in 2018. Nose is layered, dense and elite. Screams of place. Heavenly ripe cherries that are round. Really ethereal and just so impressive. Palate is round, tangy and elegant. Beautiful freshness and purity. Concentrated but light on its feet and one epic finish. Really really juicy and terrific powdery tannins. Sensing this needs air to fill out. But might impressive now. Amazingly, fresh, energetic and vibrant. Awesome. With air this is filling out but with mineral tinged tannins and structure. It’s more complete after 30 minutes but also less approachable. Let’s see where it goes. — 6 days ago
Had fun with a “Judgement of Granite Bay” France vs. California challenge. Both ‘15s, both originally about the same price. The Bedrock was plush and luxurious on the palate while soft on the nose. Glorious to drink. The Graillott nose was like an epic poem about the inside of a French barn. Loved it. But the palate didn’t match. I could swirl and smell that Graillott forever.... and then following that with a sip of the Bedrock... managed the perfect wine! — 19 days ago
Paired with steak. Balanced, full bodied, black fruit notes. Oddly reminded me of the EPIC steakhouse Napa vintage...? — a month ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Morasi Riserva.
Stunning nose. Spellbinding cherry, licorice, roses, amazing tar, chestnut, wow. Just ridiculous aromas out of the gates. Amazing depth and no hard edges on the aromas. And these usually take 3 hours to get going. It’s like smelling velvet. With just the most vivid cherries. Very very impressive. Haunting. Layered. A 9.7 nose. Wow, what fruit! Just incredible. Dense, layered and so so pure. This just smokes any other 14 I’ve ever had. So refined for a big wine. Unreal fruit and the freshness is remarkable. Insane inner mouth aromas. The clarity here is outrageous! Complex, structured and so juicy. A baby, like a serious baby but this is epic epic Barbaresco. Wow that finish.
After 2-3 hours of air this gets that Giacosa perfectly ethereal strawberry rhubarb cherry delicate scent that is the thing you search for in elite Barbaresco. — 13 days ago
Golden. Crisp. Had with king crab. Epic. — 25 days ago
Killer nose. Blast of lime. Big slate. So clean and masterful clarity. Herbs, peppermint. So clear. Fresh rain. Layered. Multidimensional. Superb. Palate has a huge blast of lime sweetness on a hyper elegant frame and then pump out intense mineral lime zestiness that builds on the finish and just lingers. Terrific complexity in the mid palate and what a finish. Massive structure and grip here. So serious. Long, palate staining finish. Great now. Greater down the road. This wine is epic as it gets for Feinherb. Such intensity. Grip. Such structure. Brilliant. 19 is the truth. After air this gets so filigreed and elegant. The real deal. — 23 days ago
