Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

Brett. Deep garnet color. Red fruited. Tart red cherry, red currant, sanguine, blood, hawthorn, empty cigar box, leather, smoke, spearmint, tomato leaf. Elevated fine & well integrated tannins coating the gum. Med + acid. Feels a bit anemic.

Earthy funk quickly evolved into pencil & cigar box followed by cassis & a lovely faint floral perfume ~ still fairly tannic but showing solid underlying array of dark fruits ~ lovely anniversary wine enjoyed w boiled peanut & wild mushroom pate, butterbean hummus, creamy lump blue crab& artichoke dip, followed by slow roasted NC Duck and Heritage Pork Chop

This does not suck. At all.

Quite good overall and fairly elegant but not exactly full of lively energy.

Lovely wine still incredibly young and tight and I would have not guessed that it is already packing 15 years of age. Deep dark color, aromas of coffee, cassis, tobacco, cedar wood, cherry and mint, full body, tight dry tannins, lively acidity, needs a lot of time to open up, and will age for another decade at least. Long dry rich finish. Well crafted and well done. My score 90+, drink to 2027

So much elegance. Cool-climate black fruit and soft silky tannins. Gorgeous.

The prefect gentleman for sure. Super wide bandwidth of flavors. Pepper/fresh Tobacco to stewed fruit
