Back drinking after a month off!
Great wine to get back in the saddle. Continuing our Vosne-Romanee obsession.
Unsurprisingly, dominated by red fruits (red currants, red cherries) with a smooth, concentrated finish.

This is a great wine. It’s not one of the best wines on earth. But it’s one of my favorites. Especially in 21. 95 on open. Hits 96 an hour in. The aromatics improve and take it over the top.
Nose: sweet minerals. Sweet fresh ocean breeze. Some lemon flower. White flowers. My wife says white lilies.
Palate: sweet fruit. Magnificent so delicious. A kiss of richness. Balanced. Juicy. Bright. Gorgeous internal aromatics. Still that chablisien feel.

A rough day. So which wine will never disappoint? Dampt Cote de lechet.
Nose: lovely. A green apple skin mineral perfume. White flowers get this to 94.
Palate: sweet green apple. Salty. Mineral. Utterly delicious. This is not the acid driven hammer that 21’was but it’s in the range of being as good.

Light and poised. Raspberry, plum, black cherry, roses. A really gorgeous chambolle-like nose. The palate not as intense but quite brooding and savory. Detailed and quite long. — a month ago
A little too young but couldn’t pass up a Vaillons when on the menu, especially with oysters. — 3 months ago
Wow. What a wine. I love this Crozes. Nose is full of pepper, grilled meats, blackberry, black raspberry, dark blueberry and lots of crushed granite. Just awesome. Mashed violets now with air. Palate is rich yet energetic with terrific precision and silky depth. Juicy and full of black fruits and crushed granite. Needs air but wonderfully elegant palate with really high quality tannins. Needs air. Air has helped. More lacey and complete. — 4 months ago
