De Martino

Single Vineyard Alto Los Toros Elqui Valley Syrah 2011

Nice Syrah! Violet with slightly orange edge. Very interesting nose, at first it has lots of mature red fruit, then it changed to a very meaty profile, also dried prunes, and violets. Medium acidity and low astringency but good permanency and nice aftertaste. De Martino is without a doubt one of my favorite Chilean producers. — 16 days ago

Mineraly, dry, slight citrus, stone quality. Good with fresh pasta, sauteed vegetables, chicken and probably seafood — a month ago

Tabalí

Vetas Blancas Reserva Especial Syrah 2016

Young and slightly closed up. Lots of smells such as light pepper/spice, blackberry, plum, bramble, cigar box, sweet pipe tobacco, black olive, cured meat etc. On the palate, still dense with black fruits, a touch of oakiness, pum and peppery spice. A full bodied wine with a good length length. Overall, whilst not yet developed, excellent. — 2 months ago

Viñedos de Alcohuaz

Tococo de Alcohuaz Syrah 2015

Although priced a bit high, this non-certified bio-grower started in -05 in Chile and makes several high quality wines. Dense color; dark small berries, dark chocolate, spicy, elegant nose; and full, round mouthfeel with fine tannins, high acids, and a delicious long finish; moderate oak. I am a N Rhône fan, but this style (less meaty and stringent - more round and supple) works too. — a month ago

Tabalí

Gran Reserva Pedregoso Syrah Carménère 2016

When first pouring a slight violet tinge to the wine. full on the mouth and juicy. Smells of black cherry, black currant, slightly jammy. Also strong sage with cigar box/cedar and bacon fat. Like it. As to tastes, sour cherry, leather, black pepper and a touch of vanilla. Sourish notes being the dominant taste.
Good length and reasonable balance. Very enjoyable.

Tamaya

Winemaker's Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Had this at Oak House with Erin. It definitely had an aged feel to it. Dense mouthfeel. Jammy black fruit with a hint of fig. Really smooth. — 3 months ago
