Anniversary wine — 12 days ago
Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of black cherries, roasted tomatoes, and tabacco; on the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of red currants, clay pots, graphite, and eucalyptus with a long finish. This wine is balanced and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 4 months ago
A rich Crimson in colour. Cabernet aromas immediately noticed. A Bordeaux blend from Bolgheri, Tuscany. I’m sure this wine would be difficult to pick as Italian in a lineup of left bank Bordeaux from 2015. This has blackberry, plum and earth flavours all wrapped in spicy oak. Will go on into the early 2030s. Thoroughly enjoyable. Next in a couple of years. — 5 days ago
Well structured Super Tuscan blend that incorporates only the following Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Petit Verdot (10%). Plush aromas of black/blue fruit, oaky spice, eucalyptus, violets and leather. Flavors of blackberries, cassis, tobacco, black licorice and dark chocolate. Mineral and garrigue notes on the long and lingering finish. Full bodied, powerful and dense. Well softened tannins with excellent balance, structure and complexity. Solid value for this quality. — a month ago
Blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby red color, purple hues, with aromas of dark berry fruits, herbs an slight floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with licorice, tobacco, cedar and gentle floral spice. Long finish, great balance, fine chewy tannins that opened after decanting for 30 minutes, ending with fruit, cedar and earthy character. Nice, will age a bit. — 2 months ago

Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise, purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. Loaded with finesse and wonderful freshness. Enjoyed with Petey and Kase (Thanks Guys) on the beach in Cape May, NJ. — 10 days ago
Pretty good.
Decanted the bottle for about 2 hours before the first sip. Think the air time helped it unwind a little. Bought for ~$50 at Looks Market. — a month ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Red and black fruits on the nose with tobacco, light wood, licorice, chocolates, black pepper, herbs and spices.
Full bodied and soft with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, sweet raspberries, coffee, sweet oak, chocolates, licorice, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, earth and mediterranean spices.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 4 year old Super Tuscan Merlot is drinking very nicely now. Nicely balanced and elegant. Complex and entertaining.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, and balance itself out.
Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Wine Spectator 94 points.
I had the 2021 vintage a couple of years ago at the winery, and it was much better. The 2022 vintage was not as good as the 2021, so there's that.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.
100% Merlot grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
14% alcohol by volume.
