Aged in French oak (85% new) for 12 months, medium Ruby with aromas of red berry fruit, floral and herb spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and tart raspberry with smoky and pleasant earthy herb notes, wrapped in vivid acidity and nice mouthfeel. Second bottle of this. So comfortable in its own skin. Doesn’t try to impress, just fit in (with food, that is). Nose has bitter cherry, gravel, old mahogany furniture. Soft and fruity, but bone dry and with good acids and a little bitterness making the finish interesting. Great accompaniment to pasta with red sauce and sausage. — 2 years ago
