Domaine Yann Mousset

Franck et Olivier Mousset

Clos Saint Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2021

Ripe red fruit, dark cherry, medium bodied with a fairly bright acidity. Plenty of leather, some oak, and hints of a funky earthiness. Would go well with a ripe blue cheese. Lively pairing with a ribeye and sweet potatoes. Would do well aging for a few more years to mellow the acidity. — 6 days ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2026

Maybe it bit too full bodied for my taste, but it easily balanced itself with acidity. A fine production. — 10 months ago

Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir

It’s easy to overrate a wine (I do it myself all the time), but I think natural wines get more up-loved. This is a very good wine. — 3 years ago

Clos Saint Michel

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2019

Mousset family has managed Clos Saint Michel for more than 6 decades, in Southern Rhône they have been active in wine for Much longer. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb and spicy notes, blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, all aged in older barrels. On the palate flavors of black cherry and ripe blackberry with cigar box and black pepper spice. Big firm tannins, nicely integrated, good balanced, long finish with solid ending. — 3 years ago

OH!... Beaujolais Gamay 2020

2020 is so fresh. Great nose, tart cherries, elderberry, stones, some greenery, just a touch of tart strawberry jam. Outstanding. This is what I remember 15 dollar Beaujolais tasting like 10+ years ago. — 3 years ago
