Domaine Le Grand Saint Charles

Domaine Grosbot-Barbara

S.A.S Prince Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz St. Pourçain Chardonnay Blend 2023

Still one of the great alt whites in the world.

N: swirling white and yellow flowers. Almost an echo of tropical fruit.

P: delicious. Clean. Balanced. Juicy. Liquid yellow flowers. Some crunch. Mountain steam. Amazing elegance.

9.5-9.6. Sick value at this price.

Château Pavie

Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Opulence in a glass and, though beautiful, still an infant at 15 years. Big berries and smokiness! — 18 days ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Saint Guirons Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Gorgeous! Incredibly fresh with youthful vigor and classic Paulliac aromatic layers and a rich and concentrated palate with grippy tannins still! This one calls for a nice juicy steak! — 16 days ago

Château Berliquet

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!

Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Red fruits on the nose with spices and dark chocolate notes.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black plums, currants, light oak, coffee, herbs, chocolates, licorice, spices, light earth, black pepper, tobacco leaf and black tea.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is very tasty Merlot from Saint Emilion. Complex and rich. Nicely balanced, fruit forward and elegant.

This 5 year old Merlot based blend is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking nicely.

Interesting enough to drink as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% New) French Oak barrels for 16 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$60.

Yes, let’s bring Merlot back! IMO, there are more good value, high-quality wines coming out of Saint-Emilion than any other Bordeaux region these days.

I'd say that's my current Bordeaux region as well. @Tom Casagrande

First bottle corked. Luckily able to pull another from the cellar to compare. What a difference! Great learning when you can compare. Black cherry, smooth, decent acidity, very soft tannins. First bottle was wet cardboard. — 11 days ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Birth year tastings, evening 4.
Polished leather, nuts, ecoline, grilled red pepper, tomato leaf, gingerbread, pepper, salty savoriness, tannins still present, still youthful, lots of future. Muscular! Beautiful.
