@Severn Goodwin Just just starting it’s slow decline. Which I love. It’s all fruit with very light acidity.

Croix de Chabot Saint-Joseph Syrah 2013

Very solid Rhône. So that means excellent fruit, very hearty yet still earthy. Matched up very well with curry dish — 12 days ago

You gotta keep the app live if I get a notification and have to flip to another app. It’s a huge flaw right now. This flaw evaporates many notes. If I get a notification while I am writing a delectable TN and flip to Twitter or IG then flip back to Delectable (this is on iPhone) the TN disappears and the app reboots. It’s something that needs to be taken care of. Like my twitter, IG screens stay in same position and all work is there. If i am posting and get a notification then I flip somewhere and go back, nothing changed and my work is saved on twitter and IG and other apps. That’s the note as my note for this wine got evaporated because of this flaw. Wine is bonkers. — 20 days ago

St. Joseph Blanc White Rhone Blend 2012

Ah, great integration of tannins, fruit and acidity. Wonderfull energy with red berries in a cloudy appearance. Still youthful, showing no real signs of maturation. Perfect now, but will probably keep for further ageing. — 9 days ago

Cavanos Saint Joseph Syrah 2016

Out of a 375mL. Striking purple color looking super fresh. A powerful bouquet of blue fruits, flowers, and bacon fat. Tart blue and red fruits, minerals and smoked meat on the palate. Great acid. Tannins are pretty stiff right now. Long finish. A fantastic pairing with lamb stew. I love how much energy this has! I expect this to have a very bright future ahead. — 18 days ago

It has been a few years since our last 2007. It has softened some but, still a beast and picked up more florals. The 2007 has shown the consistent quality of the vintage over multiple bottles.

The nose reveals; dark sweet currants, deeply extracted blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, purple fruit blend, blueberries, poached strawberries on the glass edges, anise to black licorice, limestone minerals, steeped fruit teas, sweet tarriness, leathery notes, dry crushed rocks, dry brush, dry herbs, dark liqueur notes, hints of graphite, volcanic minerals, dry top soil, expresso roast, vanilla, light, dark clove, touch of nutmeg, dark chocolate, coco powder, malt in malt balls with dark, withering & candied florals with violets & lavender.

The body is; ruby, lush and full. The tannins are; round, chewy, meaty, dusty and only 50% resolved. The structure, tension, length and balance have just hit their stride and still climbing. Dark sweet currants, deeply extracted blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, purple fruit blend, blueberries, plum, poached strawberries on the glass edges, anise to black licorice, limestone minerals, steeped fruit teas, sweet tarriness, leathery notes, dry crushed rocks, moist clay, dry brush, dry herbs, dark liqueur notes, hints of graphite, volcanic minerals, dry top soil, expresso roast, vanilla, light, dark clove, touch of nutmeg, dark chocolate, mocha, caramel, coco powder, malt in malt balls, Asian spice, splash of soy sauce, a touch of black pepper, wood plank, withering & candied florals with violets & lavender. The acidity is like a fresh mountain stream. The long finish is; elegant, ripe, ruby, well balanced fruit & earth and persistent for days.

The 07 has 10-20 years of good drinking ahead depending on how you store & enjoy wine.

Photos of; their Estate vines as viewed from their patio terrace, the famous Napa Valley sign on Hwy 29 at sunset and a couple different shots of their member party.
