Nose has tart cherry, dried Bing cherry, sous bois (moist), wet chalk, dried orange rind, dried rose, crushed under-ripe black currant, faint dark cocoa powder and hint of dry garden soil.
Palate has fresh tart cherry, wet leather, dried raspberry, chalk dust, rose hip tea, tarry inferences, wet cedar, faint anise and intense tannins with bright acidity.
Wow, this wine is drinking no where close to my age...so fresh! 🤯 A gift from my lovely wife. This bottle has another 10Y in the tank for enjoyment. Likely the finest example of an aged Clos Vougeot we've ever experienced.
Cork pulled for slow oxidation at 7H, double decant for service with 2H hold in bottle at the time of notes.
Paired to grilled, Asian-style dry rubbed pork chops (Highland Farm; Old Chatham, NY) and garden herb, toasted orzo; Love your farmer ♥️.

Nice expressive nose with scents of red fruits, raspberries and cranberries in particular. The palate is gorgeous, fresh, elegant, very classy, pure and precise flavors, not the most powerful or dense but showing a nice texture and a decent length (at best) on the finish for the level. — 10 days ago
