My continued quest to try as many 2022 Burgundies as possible.
The nose is darkish fruits & brooding with light earth tones & dark, withering florals.
Nice body and fresh, fruit entry on the palate. Dark cherries, poached strawberries, blackberries & some black raspberries. Shows dry, fine tannins. Dark, rich forest floor with dry leaves, herbaceous notes-bay leaf sticks out, dark refined spice, dry, grey volcanic clays, dry limestone power, some dark, steeped tea, light red cola, barrel shaving powder, bright red and dark florals, nice acidity and an elegant, balanced finish. Again, lacks some complexity at this stage. Perhaps, with more time it shows more complexity? Cellaring is in order here. — 4 months ago
5 months ago
this is good, though may not be a very Vosne-Romanee type, in terms of tannins and rather deep flavor than flowerlike elegance — a year ago

At the highly regarded “Somoza” restaurant in Niseko. The food was amazing - this wine overpriced at 47,000 Yen - $470 AUD for a Village wine. Quite a simple wine and a little closed. Was looking for the Chambolle perfume which was not there yet. The palate was uncomplicated and straightforward. Strawberry and raspberry, red currant. Medium minus palate length. Moderate tannins. French wine tends to be overpriced in Japan. — 24 days ago
