Green apple, brioche, honey, great aromas, very good champagne — a month ago
At 23 years of age And 22 years on the lees, this wine has loads of toasty autolytic flavors combined with lemon drop, dried orange rind, dried raspberry, baked apple, toast, pastry, honey, hazelnut and acacia. Soft but persistent mousse and an extremely long finish. — 7 days ago
Very nicely aged Morgon with all that Gamay ripened cherry fruit earth goodness with soft balanced profile on palate and a finish that is well, elegant? — a month ago
Popped and poured but not something I would recommend. The 2017 Cuvée Réservée benefited from some time in the decanter and the Cuvée Laurence would enjoy the same. However, a decanter we had not; nor was the setting appropriate. And while I wouldn’t have described this as shy upon opening, it certainly went from strength to strength with exposure to air and by the last glass, this was sensational. Beautiful dark bramble fruit, salmiakki, black pepper, red flowers, bacon fat, garrigue, old wood, and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long lasting and ever so sexy. As a reminder, no “Cuvee da Capo” was made in 2017 so there’s no wonder why this is special. Drink now through 2042. — a month ago

2006. Purchased a couple bottles at a Rosenthal wine dinner in 2014. Drank the first one in 2018 and really enjoyed it. Popped and poured this bottle to go with Pakistani Lamb Kebabs. Paired well, but was really only offering the savory side of its flavor profile. Two hours after dinner, the wine opened up and more tart red fruits filled in. Doesn’t really have the aged characteristics of an 18 year old wine. — 9 days ago
