Dry crisp Riesling lemon hints clean long finish — 6 years ago
Super solid. Would have guessed Watervale blind. Fresh lime acidity, a whiff of petrol fumes and honeysuckle — 7 years ago
Wow, acid is here and that's for sure. Utterly refreshing, peppery lime nose. Grapefruit, gave, bitter lime but all very balanced. I could drink a bucket. — 7 years ago
Aged on the nose balanced as classic riesling on palate, long finish — 8 years ago
Watervale sourced fruit.
Made in the Barossa at a Shiraz based winery.

Awesome nose of insane florals, minerals and just more florals. Like a Crabtree & Evelyn. Melon and citrus develop with air. Palate is at once crisp and linear but also opulent and exotic but it’s all precise and reigned in. Long mineral finish with structure to burn. Juicy and perfumed on the finish. — 3 years ago
First Riesling from Australia, petrol nose and long finish — 6 years ago
Considering how stunning Frauenberg was in 2018 I was even excited to taste this and it did not let down. Stunning nose. Vinous Crabtree and Evelyn. Floral, herbal, lavender, gorgeous. Honeysuckle. Lean and limey as well. Hint of vulcanized rubber I love so much. Apricot, peach skin. So insanely complex. A GG like nose. Complex and concentrated with terrific fruit skin purity and almost a like fruit leather. So mineral and precise and just teeming with energy and a playful, focused yet intense juiciness. The finish is a mile long and gives off citrus and minerals. Amazing texture and so well made. Balanced and super pure with the structure to age for 10+ years. As this airs it picks up a white chocolate, caramel hit in the mid palate which is to die for. — 7 years ago
this is lovely 😊 — 9 years ago
Really lovely. Full of zest and life. Held a beautiful profile in the palate for absolutely ages (even when we had finished dinner and the bottle and while watching Collingwood. And if there's anything to put a bad taste in your mouth it would be Collingwood Football Club).
I still believe, for my palate, that Watervale/Springvale Grosset Rieslings drink better young, while the Polish Hills are better with age. — 3 years ago
Outstanding expression of Riesling, plenty of limes and floral notes, rich palate but still tight, long finish. — 6 years ago

Bob McDonald

Aromatics of lime juice and talc/musk. A classic Watervale Riesling from the Clare Valley. On the palate those same limey flavours with a textural waxiness. Made by John Vickery who is regarded as the master of Australian Riesling. See my previous notes about John here on Delectable and his work with Leo Buring back in the 1970’s. Crazy good value - I paid $18 back in 2019. — 10 days ago
