Corton André

Le Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Nice red fruits, cherries in particular and some black currant too, the nose as well as the palate has a touch of smoke or toasted scents but still the new oak treatment is not too prominent for my taste. It is very young but approachable with fine grained tannins and a nice acidity, the balance of that medium plus bodied palate with all elements is good, gorgeous fruit and decent length. 91-92

Wow - big, rich, open and deep. A joy to inhale. Silky and light despite its seeming weight. Give me more and more time! — 2 days ago

Oddly tighter than the 2017 on release. If you drink it soon decant it — 11 days ago

Les Grisières St. Joseph Syrah 2015

Dense dark crimson in colour. Aromas of blackberry, pepper, and a whiff of charcuterie. On the palate much the same descriptors of blackberry and black pepper, medium plus bodied, finishing with persistent smooth tannins. Not as fruit driven as some top Australian Shiraz but then again should be compared with a top Shiraz from the Grampians district like Mount Langhi Ghiran “Langi “ where I would point the latter slightly higher.- both at a similar price. — 19 days ago

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2011

A preferred house fir Corton Charlemagne and a favorite vintage from this house over the past decade. This bottle is spot on, in my humble opinion. Aromatics show tropical fruits of coconut, oak, acacia, and more. Mid palate of big bold resins and viscosity. Finish lasts more than a minute. Wish I had more bottles to pull out of the locker to enjoy!! — 6 days ago

Corton-Perrières Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Pop amd pour, notes from 2 hrs open. On the nose: dried raspberry, mulberry leaf, musty red fruit, soft herbs. On the palate: excellent acidity and good density, sour cherry, cranberry, dried raspberry..this btl is mature, if a bit uninteresting. The finish shows very tannic still...Corton rusticity, I guess, but my guess right now is that the fruit will dry up before the tannin softens. Will check-in tomorrow. — 14 days ago
