Great, but the 2018 better - a little more horsepower. — 2 months ago

A top vintage for Unico, and one to live forever, 04 is in an amazing spot, decadently layered and hedonistic with an impeccable balance of both power and elegance. The palate is expansive, silky and rich with melting tannins and massive length. A stellar Unico. — 19 days ago
Bright ruby red color. Aromas of red and black berry fruit, leather and a hint of dusty earth. Flavors of red and black bramble berries, chocolate, spice and toasted oak. Nice long finish and pleasing texture. Medium bodied and well balanced. Much better than expected. Excellent QPR! — 3 months ago
Although not as prestigious as Unico, this Valbuena 5 was an absolute delight! Rich and balanced, it paired perfectly with fowl (pigeon). — 8 days ago
Exquisite. Always solid. Paired with filet mignon. — 2 days ago

This is a magnanimous wine and still in its youth. A non vintage blend of declared Gran Reserva vintages: 2008, 2010, and 2011. The color is still deep ruby with hits of garnet on the rim. The bouquet on the nose is strong and nuanced, layered; with notes of blackberry, cherry, plum, and additional notes of cigar box and old leather. The palate is even more extraordinary, it is very well integrated with fruit, tannins, and acidity. Velvety! Flavors of black currant, cherries and figs are savory and complimented by coffee, graphite and some anise. The finish is elegant, reminiscent of minerals. Cheers. — 3 days ago
